Palo Alto Cycling - Ravenswood and Cooley Landing Park

 

Being to Byxbee Park and Baylands Nature Preserve in Mountain View, now push northward further. Revenswood Open Space Preserve is very close to Highway 84, the Dumbarton Bridge. It would be nice to see the bridge from there!

Still park at the Casey Forebay Street Parking at the end of San Antonio Rd same as last time. But don't take the Adobe Creek loop Trail. Take bike lane detour. This runs in parallel with Highway 101 (as you can see on the map above). Connect to Renzel Trail and all the way north. From here you can go north from the left side of the Palo Alto Airport or from the right side.

Cooley Landing Park is a beautiful place. Good scenery and plenty of parking space. Today is cloudy and a bit rainy.

Continue north is Revenswood Open Space Preserve. Very close to the bridge now. At the end of the trail, there is an observatory platform. That's the end of the trail.

Oneway is about 9km. Mostly flat. Very easy ride. Bikers and runners about the same numbers. Should consider try running sometimes.

Cycling - Rancho San Antonio

  一般到Rancho 是去hiking. 今天試試 biking. 雖然Stevens Creek Blvd最直接, 但車子太多了, 所以騎到Cupertino Library, 再接McClellan Rd. 這樣一路都是bike lane.  Rancho 裡面騎車的地方有限, 我也只到County Park門口. 回來走Homestead Rd. 這樣一圈17.7km. Total ascent 210m. 是要費一點力的. Not bad. Good exercise.

Cycling - Saratoga Creek bike lane

  The Saratoga Creek bike lane and trail system is currently a mix of high-quality paved paths and on-street routes. Although it did not connect all the way to Cupertino, it is not that far. Just get to the Creekside Park than all the way east to Sterling Barnhart Park. The trail starts from the north where I mark X on the map above (SAR Mile 0). The entrance is right next to the Sterling Barnhart Park. Going south, once you cross Bollinger Rd, you see the SAR Mile 0.5 sign (below). The trail is scenic and follows the creek. It is primarily used by locals for quick exercise or getting to Murdock Park. The complete loop is 12.5km. You can do a bit of grocery shopping on the way back.
